How to Maximize the Helpfulness & Impact of Your Gifts

Spirit of Giving at St. Michael’s 

There is an abundant spirit of generosity and love that embodies the members and friends of St. Michael’s, which allow us to carry out our mission to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ so that all may come to know God. We pray that God helps us to individually offer and collectively receive and use each gift wisely to make God’s love known to all.

Purpose of Our Gift Acceptance Guidelines

The purpose of having guidelines is to outline what type of gifts are the most helpful and impactful, as well as to clarify what gifts may unintentionally not be an ideal fit or fully utilized (and in that way may be wasteful).

Cash Gifts Are Always the Most Helpful

In short, unrestricted cash gifts enable us to make financial decisions that are most effective achieving our shared vision for the good of the whole: in keeping with our form (aesthetic) & functional needs.  You can make a cash donation online at www.saintmichaels-sanibel.org/donate or via TEXT: SMAA to 73256 for a contribution to the operating fund.

The convenience of setting up direct withdrawals from an account

Gift Acceptance Committee Members & Review Process

The Vestry is responsible for the review, acceptance and rejection of gifts. The spirit of reviewing restricted and/or non-ordinary gifts is to ensure gifts that are accepted are in complete keeping with our shared mission/vision and do not have unintended costs, liability or complexity burdens.

Major Donors Encouraged to Seek Outside Advice

Before making any major or binding gift, we encourage donors to consult with independent, professional financial, tax and other advisors to ensure they are protecting their individual interests as they generously express their love for the church and others.
