Moving Forward Update #21

Dear Friends,

Hopefully those of you currently in the area have prepared your homes as much as possible for incoming tropical storm Nicole. We pray that the winds and rain do not do further damage to already compromised homes and businesses. Sue and I just returned from the island, where the restoration company has secured the property and have left the island until Friday. We also got our home prepped as much as possible.  Two shelters are open, Estero Rec Center & North Fort Myers Rec Center if you do not feel safe in your present location. 
 
Any updates due to the weather for meetings scheduled for tomorrow will be sent via email. 
 
Please check out the email that went out earlier today announcing the Thanksgiving Day service at 10am and a potluck brunch to follow. Also there is a collection of frozen turkeys and money for the Gladiolus Food Pantry this weekend. Donations will be collected at church on Sunday. 
 
Angels on the Go: The challenges ahead will be many, but our Angels are ready to serve in helping you with those unexpected tasks that are beyond your current ability. Just call (239-472-2173) or email the Church Office and the angels will do their very best to personally help you out, or to find a solution for taking care of your needs.

KC (Kara) Cuscaden is heading the effort for more long term housing. Please contact Deborah Larson and information will be relayed to KC.

*The next city of Sanibel briefing will be tomorrow night at 5pm. You can watch it on FaceBook Live.  Be sure to check out our previous updates we sent out that have several resources. 
 
New Additions: 
*Beginning Tuesday, November 15th Premier Sotheby's International Realty, 2341 Palm Ridge Rd. (Between the CVS and Fire Station) will offer a complimentary business center with :Computer Usage, Wi-Fi, Printing and Scanning, Desk Space, Air conditioning, Water, Snacks, Restrooms
 
*Jerry's Foods now is offering a limited selection of hardware items, including saws, shovels, hoses, PPE, air filters, hand tools, screws, nails, glue, and more.
 
*The Army Corp of Engineers have released the reassessments of properties. 
 
*If anyone needs a little motivation today, call 707-873-7862; it's a school project where kindergarteners give you a pep talk. It's very cute and it's automated!
