Pick your joy, complete it, and share it—because small joys add up to a strong Sanibel. Plus several new community events to come together and connect!

Community Gatherings - Come & Connect
Thursday, June 25 9am-11am Sip, Surprise & Create Event - Macintosh Books + Paper and Home by Rachel Pierce- Heart of the Island Shops- receive a book to read and an exclusive Rachel Pierce designed bookmark to color, coffee bar and pastries too!
Tuesday, July 7 10am-1pm Christmas in July at Noah's Ark Thrift shop- enjoy all the Christmas items for sale while you listen to Christmas music; then continue on throughout the island to do some early Christmas shopping!
Monday, July 13 Noon-4pm Shell Stroll - start at Bubbly Latitude to pick up a passport/map with various stops to collect painted and natural shells, then end at St. Michael's where you can decorate shells, enjoy ice cream donated by The Shack of Sanibel, seashell cookies donated by Pinocchio's Original Italian Ice Cream and turn in your passport for a seashell themed prize; supply limited.
Sunday, November 1 Love Sanibel Community Gathering Noon-2:30pm- at the Sanibel Recreation Center, enjoy celebrating and connecting with each other with free food, music, activities, Sanibel School Art Show, prizes and more!

Week 3 June 15-21
Eat Local
Enjoy a "local favorite" menu item/treat at one or more of our participating restaurants and share a photo of it with #lovesanibelback. Be sure to leave a positive review on google, tripadvisor and/or yelp.
Submit of photo on your Facebook page of yourself or what you are eating at your favorite spot using the #lovesanibelback for a chance to win a gift card from a restaurant!
Invite a neighbor or perhaps an island newcomer to join you at a local participating business and enjoy some shopping, an attraction or a bite to eat. Share a photo on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #lovesanibelback
Week 4 June 22-28
Neighbors Connect
Invite a neighbor to join you at a participating business and enjoy some shopping, an attraction or something to eat.
Come and connect with your neighbors at Sip, Surprise & Create Thursday June 25 from 9-11am at the Heart of the Island Shops. Macintosh Books + Paper will be giving away 100 "blind date with a book" a book wrapped in brown kraft paper with a brief description on it. Let the book choose you or you choose one, read it and then pass it on at one of our island free libraries. Rachel Pierce will be hosting a coffee/beverage bar and pastries and handing out an exclusive bookmark designed by her that you can color. There will be different designs throughout the summer at her three stores; Rachel Pierce Art Gallery, Home by Rachel Pierce and Pierce's Paw Paradise.

Write a thank you not to a local worker/employee/business and deliver it.
This is the week to say thank you to our first responders, non profit employees, and the hard working servers, clerks and staff at our local businesses.

Christmas In July Week
Noah's Ark Thrift Shop, on the campus of St. Michael's will have a Christmas in July event on Tuesday, July 7 with many unique Christmas items for sale as you listen to Christmas music!
Start your Christmas shopping early and shop local at some of our small businesses. A list of those participating in Christmas in July week will be coming soon!

Week 7 July 13-19
Beach Kindness Week
Pick up at least 10 pieces of litter at one of our local beaches, or bring a friend and collect 20+. SCCF has several guided beach walks, https://sccf.org/calendar/ and the Shell Museum has Beat the Heat Beach Walks, see https://shellmuseum.org/learn-and-experience/field-education/ for more information on them.
Shell Stroll Monday July 13 Noon-4pm- start at Bubbly Latitude to pick up a passport/map with various stops to collect painted and natural shells, ending at St. Michael's for shell painting activities, ice cream donated by The Shack of Sanibel, and turning in completed passports for shell themed prizes including seashell cookies donated by Pinocchio's Original Italian Ice Cream and other items, supply limited.

Wild Mile Week
Learn one wildlife face and support a wildlife organization on the island by visiting them, volunteering and/or donating.
Special Activities each day:
Monday, July 20- Tarpon Bay Explorers 20% kayak/paddleboard rentals on this day if you come in with a LSB button or bag
Tuesday, July 21- Bailey Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium
(extended hours 5-7:30pm with free admission during that time)

Thursday, July 23 - J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge

We wind down the summer by restocking the food pantry at FISH and provide items for residents in CHR housing.

Celebrate Local Love
Return to your favorite island businesses participating in Love Sanibel Back and show them some love and support.
Make purchases, leave a positive review and consider volunteering if one of your favorites is a nonprofit.

Random winner selected from photos to receive a gift card to a participating restaurant!

-A great place to watch sunrise/sunsets is "Ding" Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge, Tarpon Bay Explorers Inc. or SCCF's trails.
-Stop by Pinocchio's Original Italian Ice Cream, Magic Bus on Sanibel, The Shack of Sanibel, or Boops and grab a sweet treat on the way to the beach.
-Grab some picnic foods at A Bit of Bailey's General Store (10% your purchase with a LSB button!), Scooters Pizza or Jerry's Foods
