Hope Rising Update #66

by Fr. Bill Van Oss

 Dear Friends,

I'm pleased to share another video update of the progress being made in our church buildings. Crews from FP Property Restoration are working 6 days a week, under the leadership of Steve G; president, Dominick D., lead foreman and many other hardworking men and women. We are grateful for their dedication and commitment to the project.  Work on the office building is almost complete, with flooring, interior doors and trimwork finished. The final steps are the arrival of cabinetry and countertops in the next couple of weeks and the punch list to be completed. Once the staff moves over to the office, the back area will still have a church conference room area, but the rest of the back area will be converted into a staging area for incoming deliveries of items for the main building. The piles of boxes and equipment is starting to pile up as we work through a large schedule of incoming orders and deliveries. Services, meetings and space for our community partners will continue at The Gathering Place as well.

Work continues on the main building with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, IT and sound installation and flooring.  I want to remind everyone that this is a very active construction zone managed by FP so we can not have anyone in the fenced in area or the buildings. It is both a safety and a liability issue.  We provide these video updates on a regular basis so you can get a first hand look of exactly what is happening in the buildings and appreciate and thank you for your continued cooperation.

Peace,
Bill+

Moving Forward Updates from Fr. Bill

By Fr. Bill Van Oss 20 Dec, 2023
Today's Excitement Dear Friends, Today was a day to celebrate! LCEC trucks arrived to install the new meter and energize it so the new HVAC system in the sanctuary can be started up! Then a couple hours later, we passed the City of Sanibel final inspection and we were given the Certificate of Completion; the final step in our permit process which started last May. We are very grateful to Councilwoman Holly Smith, City Manager Dana Souza and all the city and LCEC employees who assisted in these final steps and of course to all the FP workers and their subs for all their hard work these past several months and the Property Restoration Team; the working group was there to receive the good news today. We are very busy getting the spaces ready for opening weekend starting with our 4th Advent services this Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 8am and 10:30am (livestreamed). Then we will have 3 Christmas Services at 4pm, 8pm (livestreamed) and 10:30am. Thanks to the volunteer teams who have been washing dishes in the kitchen, putting books on the bookshelf, hanging wreaths and a 100 other details. It is a stunningly beautiful space and we can't wait for all to experience it again for the first time in 15 months! Bill +
