Visitors & Newcomers

Saint Michael and All Angels Church welcomes all who come. We have members from more than half the states! Episcopalians, Lutherans, Methodists - all sorts and conditions of Christians, together with seekers.

Our Parish growth Commission will greet you, get you a nametag, invite you to get involved, help you feel comfortable, and help you belong to small groups, various ministries, and our community of faith.

Speak with the clergy or a Greeter, or call anytime. We'll come see you if you like.

Overseas Shuttle: The Pastoral Care Commission manages our Sunday shuttle from the Shell Point area. Parishioners who no longer drive get first priority for seats on our shuttlebus, which leaves the Shell Point (and Country Inn and Suites) areas Sunday mornings in time to arrive for our Sunday service. It returns after Coffee Hour. Let us drive you and pay the toll! Call the Parish Office weekday mornings for information: 472-2173, ext. 0.

Covered Dish Suppers the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. are a good place to meet newcomers and "old-timers." Bring a dish to share with the congregation!

Coffee Hours and receptions welcome you each weekend after the services.

Something Ventured, Something Gained:

Become a Greeter

If no one smiled and said "welcome" as you walked up onto the porch as you were going into the church, you probably would say, "Where are our greeters? I miss our greeters."

If having someone on the porch welcoming us to Saint Michael's at every service is important to those of us who are members of the parish, think how much more important a smile and a "Welcome to Saint Michael's" is to people who are coming to our church for the first time.

More and more people are coming to Saint Michael's and STAYING! Comments such as "This is such a friendly congregation" and "I was made to feel so welcome here" are frequently heard. Now the greeters, of course, can't take all the credit; but they are certainly the first people that visitors meet and they can set the tone of a visitor's feelings.

Yes! More greeters are needed -- and for every service. We can never have too many greeters. If you are a new member of Saint Michael's, being a greeter is a perfect way to meet people and to let them get to know you. If you have been a member of the congregation for years, we need your warmth and friendliness.

Jesus said. "When you welcome a stranger, you welcome me." Come, help to welcome strangers to our wonderful parish family.
